What are the main changes that apply from June 2000?

CaliachMRP licensing has changed for systems purchased from 1st June 2000. With the new pricing a new license has been introduced. Changes include:

  • Per-seat pricing (you can increment from 1 user upwards without restriction)
  • Substantially lower site price
  • One single full featured configuration (Inventory, Manufacturing & Ledgers)
  • Abolition of the Small Business Special
  • 15% Annual support and re-licensing fee
  • Each site license includes an Omnis 7 design license
  • Each user license includes an Omnis 7 runtime license

What do I get now when I buy a CaliachMRP license?

For example, were you to purchase a 5 user CaliachMRP you would get:

  • A full-function CaliachMRP site license
  • 5 concurrent CaliachMRP user licneses
  • A design Omnis 7 license
  • 5 runtime concurrent users Omnis 7 license
  • Annual telephone and software support
  • Printed CaliachMRP Reference Book

Why have these changes been made?

Over the last number of years the market has settled down and Caliach's licensing, support and pricing needed to be brought into line with today's industry standard practise. In addition, the new pricing is foreshadowing the launch of a new product later this year.

What if we do not use Ledgers and have our own accounting package?

You may still continue to operate the system without the ledgers if you wish once the defaults have been set up. This means that later you can start using the ledgers whenever you like at no extra cost.

What is required annually?

We will send you a support renewal and, on payment, a new license key. It is then a very simple process to upgrade your license.

Will the changes affect existing users?

Yes, if you want to take advantage of the new pricing and support arrangements. Your benefits depend somewhat on your current configuration. The main benefits of re-licensing include:

  • Almost universally you will pay less for annual support.
  • You will automatically be upgraded to the full system.
  • You can increment the number of users you have for just £1,000 inclusive of Omnis 7 runtime.
  • You will no longer be subject to the Small Business Special restrictions.

What is the cost of NOT upgrading?

If you do not sign-up to the new license, the July 1999 price list will still apply with the exception that extra user licenses have increased and the 5 and 10 user packs have been discontinued. Prices under the old license are not inclusive of Omnis 7 runtimes.

Will we still be able to have upgrades if we do not change?

Full systems will continue as before, subject to the new prices. SBS users will remain restricted.

How can I upgrade?

You need to agree the License Agreement and the Support Terms and Conditions.

Then complete the Customer Registration Form which you can print from your browser.

Fax this to us on +44 1895 230233. We will then fax you a new license and invoice you accordingly.

When will the new support start?

If you are already a full system site and not an SBS, the new support will apply when your current support expires.

If you are currently a Small Business Special site, we will start the new support as soon as you confirm your license upgrade.

What will happen to the extra Omnis license we already have?

These may still be used with the new Caliach licence. However, if you have upgraded, new users will still automatically come with additional Omnis licences.

If we currently have an SBS will we need any extra training?

The changeover will not in itsself require any extra training, but you should assess your usage of the system and contact our trainer if you need to discuss the benefits of having a structured training program.
