Scrap Stock

Version Relevance: All versions

Issue: Is there a way of reporting items which have scrapped from stock?

Feedback: If you mean items that were scrapped on work order kit return (i.e. quantity zeroed/reduced on an otherwise full return because all/some were unrecoverable), then just set up a custom search in Inventory Movement Reports with movement type 'J' and where the comment text contains the characters 'scrap'.

If you mean items scrapped on a work order receipt, then change the code to 'W', and either remove the comment test, or change it to 'Scrap'.

If you mean scrap quantities recorded in work history, then you would need a custom search in Work Order History Reports where the scrap quantity is not equal to zero.

Issue: I am interested in cases whereby items have been scrapped from stock, i.e. where an Engineering Change has rendered existing stock as obsolete.

Feedback: This system doesn't know this unless you tell it!

One way to do this is to quarantine them (in which case you could search on quarantine inventory movements), or if use adjustments instead, you could search on adjustments with your chosen reference/comment, to generate the report.
