Lagoon

Barbuda is the second island of Antigua. Low and flat and with only 1500 people it feels very remote. I was wandering around shooting what ever I could see but the light was failing so I was about to stop and go for a beer.

I was standing on the dock, admiring the sunset and starting to put my gear away when a couple of guys fired up their speedboat and roared off. It was all over in seconds but I snatched of about five frames in very poor light. I was shooting with a 200mm lens wide open at, I guess, 1/15th to 1/30th second - hopeless really.

A month later when I got to look at the film all but one frame was unusable, that one you see here.
