OsyabaDriving through the Southern corner of Antigua I happened to glance up a steep valley and see int he distance small set of terraces built into the hillside. I was well awared of terraced farming traditions from my time in Asia but had never seen the liek in the Carribean. After poor tracks and a hike I turned up at Osyaba's farm. He greeted me with far more grace that I could probably muster if I had chosen to live away from others and was generous to a fault. He had built the whole farm himself, and enourmous and skillful effort for one man and was generous to a fault. His pinneapples, Antigua Black, were the best I have ever tasted.
